How to read the film
Light is data, and each source system has its own colour. The sketch (the conceptual model) gives every piece its place. dbt holds the recipes and tests; Databricks runs them. Gold paintings are data products, and their labels are dbt exposures. Projectors share the original without making copies. The narration is a synthetic voice.

Data modelling
What the numbers mean, and the shapes that hold them: words and definitions first, then models, before any system.
Analytics engineering
How an agreed data model becomes tested, documented tables, with dbt.
Data quality and change
What goes wrong on a data platform, and what catches it: changes, data contracts and tests.
Enterprise architecture
How an organisation works, in layers, before you ask what its data should answer.
Master and reference data
The people and things a business is about, kept once and shared across its systems, and the lists that sort them.
